Boulder Restoration

Last week, Austin traveled to Boulder, Colorado to install an altar piece at Grace Lutheran Church. The altarpiece was originally created by Reinhold Marxhausen for the church in 1970 using burnt wood and glass tesserae.

The Center worked to clean and restore the altarpiece as the once rich blue color was fading. The original blue formica top was scratched and chipped. To restore the altar to a like-new appearance we used a sheet of color matched blue vinyl adhered directly to the top.

While at Grace Lutheran, Austin also restored the work on the exterior doors of the church.
